TitleFactory Settings and Preferences
Text File - Output Display Option
TitleFactory Preferences are accessed via
the Edit menu > Preferences or via the
button on the
main window. The preferences allow
changes to TitleFactory function and display
settings which apply across ALL projects. These preferences are loaded
when TitleFactory starts up and are saved when TitleFactory ends. These
preferences are NOT part of the project settings.
QuickKeys are key definitions for manipulating Start and/or Ending Timecodes. Timecodes can be shifted (left, right, down, or up), or stretched by the frames as specified in this window. The keys are only in effect when the cursor is positioned over the Timecode Sub Window. Note that UNDO and REDO are not applied for changes made by the QuickKeys. QuickKey functions are applied to ALL selected Timecodes.
To change an entry click in the box with the key of your choice. The leftmost boxes are reserved for the Shift, Control, and Alt keys.

The Buttons tab specifies which button will be used to control the recording of timecodes. Either click on the button number or position the mouse in the '...click here ...' and press your button choice.

The File tab contains the number of files that will be used to populate the 'Recently Used Files' drop down list on the Main Window toolbar for each of the file types.
The Reset File Lists checkbox, when checked, and OK is pressed will delete all of the entries in each of the Recent File List listboxes on the Main Window.

The Media Tab specifies options when playing media files.

Check for Media Synchronization Errors specifies whether media synchronization errors should be detected when playing a media file, typically done when recording timecodes.
Recording Stop On Synch Errors specifies a time difference (between the TitleFactory clock and the Media clock). If the difference is found then the player/recorder will stop.
Pre-roll specifies a pre-roll prior to recording.
Set media position on text or TC click will link the Text and Timecode entries with the Timeline and the position of the Media (if specified). Normally, clicking on the Timeline or changing the Timecode counter are the only methods of changing the Media position. When this box is checked then the Timeline and Media position will be changed to match the starting timecode of the clicked entry.
The Coalesce Preference specifies whether the starting time should be made equal to the previous timecodes ending timecode for those image text files that are in the same paragraph. Normally, a paragraph in the original script file, represents continuous dialog and the timecodes should equal. The slider bar determines which timecode should change. Normally it is best to set this to 0, since it is usually easy to release the mouse button when the dialog ends and hard to predict when the start of the dialog should begin. The coalesce adjustment can be turned off of unchecking the 'Coalesce Option' check box.

The Display Tab allow various settings of the main window display.
Subtitle Window Text Font is the font to use for text in the subtitle sub window and the text in the Input Settings Text Window as well as the Report Window. This is the font used when the Subtitle Display Toggle is set to the default original state.
Message and Other Font is the font to use for the text in the Timecode Sub Window, for non-image text in the subtitle sub window, for balloon help, and for error, warning and success messages.
Subtitle Text Display Factor is the font used when the Subtitle Display Toggle is set to display the text in the Main Window using the Style, Tag, and formatted control characters associated with the subtitle text. Since the Style and Tags may specify a very large font size, it is often too large to display in the subtitle sub window. The Subtitle Text Display Factor will used to reduce the size by the amount specified. For example, a display factor or .5 will display text at 1/2 the size that is specified in the associated Style or Tag. For more information on using Style and Tags see the section Style and Tags and Formatting Control Characters.
.

The theme tab defines display settings for TitleFactory. Changing the theme will be applied to all windows and dialogs immediately except for the main window. Its changes will take effect the next time that the program is started.

Timecoded Output Display Option
Use the preference window (found in the edit menu) to set the program to launch when TitleFactory creates a timecoded text file. The location of the standard programs NotePad and WordPad are expected to be in their normal out-of-the-box locations on the 'C' drive of your computer. The the location is different or if you would like to use a different program, click on the Other button to select the program.

SST Header Display Parameter Options
The SST Preference window allows the setting of ST Header parameters that TitleFactory cannot compute on its own. All other SST header parameters are taken from the 'default style' as defined in the Process Setting Window.
